We are a church, not a business, and we want to treat your information the way we would want ours treated. This page explains what we collect through www.meadecounty.church, why, and what choices you have.
1. What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not use advertising or marketing trackers.
- We do not use Google Analytics or similar outside tracking services.
- We do not build profiles of visitors.
2. Information collected automatically
Visitor statistics (Burst Statistics). We use a statistics plugin called Burst Statistics that runs on our own website. It counts things like how many people visit each page, how long they stay, which pages they came from, and what kind of device and browser they use. It is set to a cookieless mode: it does not place a cookie in your browser, does not fingerprint your device, and does not recognize you from one day to the next. We use these numbers only to see which pages are helpful and to improve the site. The data stays on our own website’s server; it is not sent to advertisers or other companies, and we have turned off Burst’s option to share usage data with its developer. Visits by our own website administrators are not counted.
Server logs. Our web hosting provider also keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to keep the site running and secure.
3. Information you give us
Guest form (Welcome, Blessed Guest page). If you fill out the guest form, we ask for your name, whether someone invited you, and where you are in your spiritual walk, along with any contact details the form asks for. The form is a Google Form, so the answers are stored in Google’s systems. Only our pastor and pastoral team can see the responses. We use them only to welcome you, follow up if you asked us to, and care and pray for guests. Google handles the form under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Contact form. If you use the Contact Us form, we receive your name, email address, and message by email. They are not stored on the website itself. Only our pastor and pastoral team read them, and we use them only to reply to you.
Prayer request form (Need Prayer page). If you submit a prayer request, we receive your name, email address, your request, whether you would like a call, and your phone number if you give one. Only our pastor and pastoral team read prayer requests, and we use them only to pray for you and, if you asked, to call you.
Email or phone. If you email or call us, we keep what you send only as long as needed to respond and care for you.
4. Third-party services on our site
- Google Calendar (Calendar page), Google Forms (Guest page) and a Google Docs viewer (Bulletin page) are embedded. Loading them can let Google collect information such as your IP address, as described in Google’s privacy policy.
- Tithe.ly (online giving). The “Give” buttons take you to Tithe.ly’s own site. If you give, Tithe.ly collects your payment and contact details under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card or bank information.
- Facebook. Links to our Facebook page take you off our site. Facebook’s own privacy policy applies there.
- Bible links. Scripture links may take you to an outside Bible site.
We do not control these services. Please read their privacy policies if you have questions.
5. Cookies
Our Cookie Policy explains the small files our site and these services may place on your device.
6. How long we keep information
We keep guest-form responses, Contact form messages, prayer requests, and emails you send us for no more than 90 days, then delete them. The anonymous visit statistics described in section 2 are kept on our own website until we clear them; they are totals and trends, not records we use to look up individual people. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
7. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email meadecountygbchurch@gmail.com or call (270) 422-7060 and we will respond within 45 days. Residents of Kentucky and other states with privacy laws may have additional rights; we will honor them to the extent they apply. You can also decline optional cookies using the banner on our site.
8. Children
Our site is meant for adults and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the site. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We keep the website and its software up to date and limit who can see form responses. No internet service is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive details (such as bank or card numbers) by email or the website forms.
10. Changes
If we change this statement we will update the date at the top.
